Case study
Super duplex spool fabrication

Location: Portland, Victoria

Client: SapuraClough Offshore

BMC was engaged to deliver high-quality super duplex fabricated pipe spools built to subsea specifications. The scope of the project included hydrostatic testing, over-sized transport logistics to port, on-site fabrication and the application of subsea survey results to all spools and adaptors.

The project was accelerated to match the client’s shortened deadline and delivered on time. The final assembled dimension was exactly to the specifications, meaning there was no re-work required. The completed project maintained all QA and HS&E standards and specifications.

Pipe spooling fabrication and installation

Longford Gas Plant, South Gippsland, Victoria

Client: Esso

BMC was tasked with the off-site fabrication and on-site installation of pipe spooling and metering skid equipment. All on-site work was to be completed during a critical major plant outage and it carried the potential impact of affecting Victoria’s gas supply if the outage duration was extended.

The project was conducted in compliance with high pressure gas piping codes and all on-site welds passed testing without any re-work. All work was completed within the scheduled time allowing the plant outage to finish as planned.

Case study
Fabrication and installation of structural components

Location: Gippsland Water Factory, Morwell, Victoria

Client: Gippsland Water

The project included the fabrication and installation of key structural components including stainless steel tanks and pipework; safety walkways, stairs and platforms as well as the fabrication, assembly, hydrostatic testing and pre-commissioning of a Reverse Osmosis (RO) skid.

The fabrication work of the tanks and pipework was delivered with all required standards for pressure and hazard class. BMC’s RO skid was fabricated offsite and installed by a third-party without any alterations required.

Case study
Structural steel and high pressure gas piping

Location: Ottway Gas Project, Bass Strait

Client: Origin Energy

The project scope was to deliver the fabrication of structural steel and high pressure gas piping, off-site. Also included was the on-site assembly and dressing of the process towers and installation of the main gas supply from the project boundary to the process plant.

In addition, BMC was able to overcome a labour relations issue on behalf of another contractor and supply additional personnel. This brought BMC’s personnel to over 180 workers on-site for 12 months to deliver all fabrication, installation, structural, mechanical and electrical work.
